As the clock continued to tick down for Prodigy, his fans, family and industry buddies came out to support the rapper at B.B. Kings, last night. For those who don’t recall, P pleaded guilty to unlawful gun possession charges on October 9th, 2007. Being his third gun conviction, the Queensbridge lyricist was facing a fifteen-year sentence. Having struck a plea bargain, though, gave Prodigy a commuted sentence of 3½ years in jail.
The facility was packed to the teeth. Armed with a mass array of video cameras and digital ones capturing the event, Prodigy was joined on stage by many of his Infamous Mobb affiliates, Alchemist, Big Noyd and Cormega. “I came out to wish the homie well,” Darren Simonson said as he drove from Long Island for the event. “P is one of my favorites and I hope that he keeps his head up,” he continued.
With the streets showcasing their love of the prison bound rapper, the HNIC performed “Shook Ones Pt. 2,” “Quiet Storm,” “A, B, C’s” and their hits with G-Unit.
